The Law of Attraction part one

Rather than a stuffy dictionary definition I am giving you today the law of attraction.

The Law of Attraction simply says that you attract into your life whatever you think about.

Thanks to another blogger I have decided that I must blog on this. I find the concept totally fascinating. It is amazing to me just how many areas in life this can be applied in. The other interesting thing is it changes the dynamic in the responsibility of your future. You can now blame you for your own thoughts and whether or not things suck.

I have yet to really decide if I buy much into the idea that you are totally at the mercy of this concept. I don’t doubt that it contains some merit. The idea that “like attracts like” may in fact be very true. I hold fast though before I decide that all things in this life are totally thought or spoken.

I do know this, words contain great power. With this power comes our ability to either use this power to boost ourselves up and grow or tear ourselves down and be at the mercy of whatever we are doing or thinking. I have seen this in action. I have seen people become very successful and I have seen people’s health fail. All because of the way they were thinking, and how they talked about themselves. Let us say now, thinking out loud about the fact that words contain power, that you actually have to think about these words and the state of being you are in when you think about them, does this mean that in fact the law of attraction are actually at play? Well this brings into account that since the human brain reacts the same to imagined events as it does to real ones, that perhaps thinking something you already have something could possibly prepare you for the actuality that it may actual bring itself to fruition in your life. Hmmmmmmm.

Makes you think for sure. I know that in Christian faith, even GOD doesn’t want you to speak negativity over your life. You hold yourself hostage with negative thoughts, and actions. So why not instead live a free life and speak life and love and happiness over your life? Good question.

Ever tell someone you get sick this time every year? Ever wonder why? I sometimes wonder if we actually say things that train our bodies to work against us. I try hard to never wake up and say ” Today is going to be a bad day”. Boy, let’s just let satan in to take over a perfectly wonderful day before we even crawl out of bed. Sheesh. We humans are the smartest thing on this planet (besides hidden aliens (jk)) and we can’t even manage to take our time before deciding that a day isn’t worth it. Now that I think about this more I wonder if we speak people into treating us poorly too. This is where kill them with kindness comes in. Now I am usually all for kill them with kindness but in light of recent events I am starting to wonder if it is almost the same as being a jerk. Let me explain.

My younger cousin is getting married next month. I feel like I should warn her in light of my situation but since that is terrible and who knows, maybe her marriage will be the first one in the entire family to work out. In fact, lets test this. Their marriage will work out. And they will be happy. Come back in 10 years and check.

Now her older sister hates me. Always has. I honestly don’t care much for her myself. It is just the way it is. Her and I have really never been great friends, and when I tried she stole every guy I ever liked. Hence we don’t like each other. Now, she is currently the maid of honor for her sisters wedding. I would have fired her since she seems to be working to sabotage it but hey, I am just a spectator. Well older cousin did a terrible job on younger cousins wedding invites. I offered to do them, send them a file they could print. Problem solved. No good. Older cousin doesn’t want me to have her email address. She must think I am stupid. If I wanted it I would just google it. Duh. Anyway, I say hey, since I can’t email it I could just send it to your walmart. No good. Apparently according to them, they have the only walmart in existence that doesn’t have one hour photo. Since sadly my family is full of less than smart idividuals that have no internet skills and some any computer skills, whatsoever, I decided to call wally world and check myself. Turns out they have one hour digital developing lab. Well burn my grits and call me a bad cook. I do believe my older cousin didn’t want my help. Huh. So I create a beautiful card, and email it to walmart myself. My younger cousin loves the invitiations to her wedding and my older cousin now hates me more. See what happens when I do nice stuff. One happy, and one angry. I couldn’t win both sides of this if I tried. It just isn’t going to happen. So now, I have a happy cousin and an angry one. I am going to have to admit here that it is a little bit my fault that said cousin that is older is mad. Cause well I kinda wanted her to be.

So did I think her anger into existence just because part of me wanted her to be mad that I was helping?

Thinking of this question I google law of attraction. And what do I find you ask? Holy smokes! A plethra of websites happy to teach you the sub atomic way to use the law of attraction to make your life awesome! I have read some of this information and find myself wondering why something that is supposed to be natural and happens on a cellular level is now being used as the next get all you want with our easy program scheme. Sigh. That is our culture. How can we turn our idea into green backs.

So now lets think of a time when the opposite happened. That we tried to speak something into fruition and it didn’t work.

I spent years since 2005 trying to speak and think my husband back to a functioning person. Prayed and prayed and spoke it like it was true, wanted it to be true, dreamed of the possibility that it was true, even imagined life with him renewed. Now, the only thing that I can think of is that this complicated idea of that we think things into being in our lives is that in order for it to work, it can only be about you. Because if the person you are trying to think is healthy is thinking they aren’t doesn’t this kinda negate what you think altogether? I would say it does. Now I am a nobody and my opinion means nothing, but we have never been able to change others. So this law of attracting what you want in your life by thinking it must only apply to your life. You as a singular person only. This draws me into wondering how we can “attract” things into our lives the way we want if essentially the only one we have control over is ourselves. Now I just had a thought. What if your wants actually line up with someone else’s. This makes me wonder if it is possible that thinking in alignment with someone else could strengthen the effect of this “attraction” and make it work, harder, better, faster and stronger. (That’s a song, lol)

So now that this is all getting super deep I have to bring back God into the picture. The bible says if we align ourselves with God, and make his desires ours, he will give us all of the desires of our hearts. Now we have proof on biblical paper that it is possible to use your thoughts and desires in a Godly way, and that you will get everything you want. Does this back up the idea of “the law of attraction”.

I am not sure. But I know this, only God truly knows the real desires of your heart. Whether they are material or not. He also knows what is best for you. Since he knows all of that then how could you go wrong lining up your thinking with his? This idea, this notion of attraction, well it is a deep deep subject and I am rarely a deep person. I believe though, that if we work hard, speak truth and love over our lives, and withhold the need to speak or think evil and destruction over our lives and the lives of others we will see the fruits of these labors.

Well all, the day is wearing this on me, so with that, I bid you all adieu and I promise to continue this long winded deep discussion at a later time.

Deep in thought,
Lady X

You don’t know me at all – Ben Folds

I wanna ask you
Do you ever sit and wonder,
It’s so strange
That we could be together for
So long, and never know, never care
What goes on in the other one’s head?

Things I’ve felt but I’ve never said
You said things that I never said
So I’ll say something that I should have said long ago:

(You don’t know me)
You don’t know me at all
(You don’t know me)
You don’t know me at all (at all)

You could have just propped me up on the table like a mannequin
Or a cardboard stand-up and paint me (paint me anything)
Any face that you wanted me
To be seen.
Damned by the existential moment where
We saw the couple in the coma and
It was we were the cliché,
But we carried on anyway.

So, sure, I could just close my eyes.
Yeah, sure, trace and memorize,
But can you go back once you know

(You don’t know me)
You don’t know me at all
(You don’t know me)
You don’t know me at all (at all)

(You don’t know me)
You don’t know me at all
(You don’t know me)
You don’t know me

If I’m the person that you think I am (Ah ah ahh)
Clueless chump you seem to think I am (Ah ah ahhh)
So easily led astray,
An errant dog who occasionally escapes and needs a shorter leash, then
Why the fuck would you want me back?!

Maybe it’s because

(You don’t know me at all)

Ahhh ah
Ahhh ah

(You don’t know me,
you don’t know me.)

Ahhh ah
Ahhh ah

So, what I’m trying to say is
What (What?)
I’m trying to tell you
It’s not gonna come out like I wanna say it cause I know you’ll only change it.
(Say it.)

(You don’t know me)
You don’t know me at all
(You don’t know me)
You don’t know me at all (at all)

(You don’t know me)
You don’t know me at all
(You don’t know me)
You don’t know me at all (at all)

(Mmmm, ohh oh
Ah ah ah ah ah
Aha ah ah ah
Aha ah
Ah ah
Oh-oh-oh-oh oh ohh)
